Plastic surgery is used to repair and reconstruct missing or damaged tissue and skin, which can be due to abnormalities present from birth, trauma, burns, and disease.  The aim is to restore the function of tissues and skin to as close to normal as possible.  Plastic surgery can also be used cosmetically to enhance or change certain features on the body.  Plastic surgery can often help improve self-esteem, confidence and overall quality of life.
