Healthcare Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our busy nursing team. The successful candidate will assist in delivering high standards of patient care within both outpatient and theatre settings. This post is offered on a permanent, part-time basis (25 hours per week).

Main Responsibilities

-  To assist with patient care needs under the supervision of a trained nurse.

-  Participate in the admission and discharge of patients in conjunction with the multi-professional team as directed by a trained nurse.

-  Carry out clinical observations such as pulse rate, blood pressure, temperature and record findings.

-  Carry out clerical duties, including preparation of patient documentation, filing of notes and booking of appointments;

-  Clean theatre/consultation rooms (including equipment) following each case and work in conjunction with the nursing team to ensure a safe and clean environment is provided and maintained.

-  Assist with clearance of theatres at the end of the case/day, including placing wrapped used medical devices into designated CDU trolley/container for collection/delivery.

- Remove waste (including secured sharps bins) from theatre/consultation rooms and label in accordance with current processes/procedures and dispose into appropriate waste bin.

-  Assist in the maintenance of stock levels by unpacking stock items and store in designated area.

-  Ensure consultation rooms are prepared for each clinic eg clean environment, replenish PPE stock, relevant forms and patient files are available.
