We are looking for an experienced Staff Nurse to join our nursing team (9 months' maternity cover - with possibility of extension). The successful candidate will provide high level nursing care within both outpatient and theatre settings. This post is offered on a fixed term, part-time basis - 27 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities
- Provide high quality nursing care.
- Ensure the safety and quality of the patient’s journey by effective planning and co-ordination of the episode of patient care, including the smooth transition to other health care professionals as appropriate.
- Ensure effective admission/discharge planning with relevant personnel/teams as required.
- Ensure effective communication between patients, staff and relatives, reporting issues to the Senior Practice Nurse as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, protocols including health and safety, healthcare associated infection, risk management and critical incident reporting.
- Maintain effective records management ensuring all documentation written or electronic is managed in line with organisational and NMC guidelines.
- Assist in the development of procedures and protocols as necessary.
- Ensure safe and effective use of equipment/substances as per organisational protocols and manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Ensure near misses, incidents, accidents and faulty devices are recorded, reported and investigated as per organisational policy.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement by assisting with audits and by reviewing processes/practices to ascertain if there are better ways of working within the department to enhance patient care, service delivery.
