Bookkeeper/Accounts Technician

Hillsborough Private Clinic (our sister clinic) provides Ophthalmology, ENT, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, Urology and other services and treatments in Northern Ireland.  Working with leading consultants and surgeons in the country, Hillsborough Private Clinic is renowned for Quality care and service.

HPC are seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper/Accounts Technician (37.5 hours per week) to be responsible for the full cycle of accounting duties.  The successful candidate must have experience using SAGE Accounts and be able to take transactions to monthly trial balance.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful, growing company.

Criteria

Essential criteria:

- 3 years’ experience working in an accounts role;
-  Sound working knowledge of SAGE 50 Accounts;
-  Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel);
-  Effective communication skills;
-  Excellent planning and organisational skills;
-  Ability to demonstrate good time management skills;
-  Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own workload;
-  Ability to work to tight deadlines;
-  Attention to detail;
-  Experience managing staff;
-  Work well as part of a team;
-  Strong IT skills.

Desirable criterion:

-  ATI qualification.

Main Responsibilities

-  Maintain purchase ledger on SAGE
-  Maintain sales ledger on SAGE
-  Maintain nominal ledger on SAGE
-  Petty cash management and reconciliation
-  Manage company credit card statements (including collection of VAT receipts)
-  Managing billing for our varied business sectors
-  Process employee time sheets and payroll related information, dealing with expenses payments
-  Taking responsibility for all aspects of credit control and chasing outstanding debt from customers
-  Liaising with customers/insurance companies to resolve invoicing queries
-  Address supplier queries and seek resolution of same in a timely manner
-  Maintain tariffs with insurance companies
-  Assisting with VAT returns on a quarterly basis
-  Prepare financial reports as required by management
-  Monthly pre-payments and accruals
-  Monthly accounts to trial balance
